Popular hook crooner Nate Dogg, 38, appeared in a Compton court yesterday to plead not guilty to felony charges related to his arrest last month for allegedly threatening his estranged wife.
According to reports, on June 23rd of this year the California Highway Patrol responded to a 911 call from his wife who identified herself only as Latoya C., claiming that Nate was chasing her on an L.A. freeway.

The pioneering music video show for hip-hop, “Video Music Box,” will be “doing it in the park, doing it after dark,” this evening as the genre’s most notable icons from across the decades will celebrate the shows 25th Anniversary with a free concert in New York City’s Central Park SummerStage.
According to the Village Voice, in what maybe a more notable anniversary than MTV ringing in the 20th of “Yo! MTV Raps,” “Video Music Box” creator and host Ralph McDaniels will bring in 25 with a star-studded concert in Central Park. The cultural stamp of public access television, the legacy of VMB stretches far and wide, as the show is one of the first and longest running outlets for hip-hop since the genres inception.

In an interview with MTV, Hip Hop super producer Timbaland announced that he will produce Jay-Z's next album.
"He wants me to do the whole thing this time around," Timbaland told MTV. "I'mma make it a classic too. You better believe it. It'll be a monster! I always say this: You get a first single from me, I'mma get you up to gold. And it's hard to get you up to gold in this day [and age]."

In three years time, Three 6 is now internationally known with a show on MTV, Adventures in Hollyhood, an Oscar win for their work in the movie 'Hustle & Flow,' and numerous appearances in Pop Life. Three 6 finally drops 'Last 2 Walk,' their 9th album, and the album they hyped the whole time on 'Adventures in Hollyhood.' Changes were made to L2W before release with the original lead single, "Doe Boy Fresh" featuring Chamillionaire left off the album and "That's Right" featuring Akon getting some rework.

1938 Media's distribution deal with Verizon, announced just a week ago, is officially history.
As DX reported earlier this week a group of civil rights activists protested the deal and threatened to boycott Verizon over a controversial video 1938's Loren Feldman created called "TechNigga: Where are the Black Tech Bloggers?" which was ridden with blatantly negative stereotypes of Black people just shy of a minstrel show. In this video, after explaining his question ("I mean black guys love technology. Car stereos, cell phones..."), the white male dressed and acted as a do-rag-wearing, 40oz drinking, over-sexualized, ebonics speaking, weed-smoking, Black gangster hosting a site called "TechNigga."

Reports are circulating that bitterness over a broken promise erupted in violence as The Game and first cousin Robert “Kirky” Kirkwood fought at the funeral for Kirkwood’s sister on July 5.
Kirkwood told tmz.com that The Game had promised to pay half of the $14,000 bill to bury his sister. According to Kirkwood, after making the promise, the Compton MC changed his phone number and deliberately began avoiding him.
