50 Cent Replaces Forest Whitaker In Upcoming Stallone Movie

50 Cent has reportedly been chosen to star in Sylvester Stallone's forthcoming movie, The Expendables, replacing actor Forest Whitaker.

Due to scheduling conflicts, Whitaker was forced to abandom his role, leaving Stallone with an opportunity to cast Fif.

"Trust me, the change of Forest Whitaker to 50 Cent AKA Curtis Jackson is a good one," Stallone wrote in a statement. "Nobody wanted Eric Roberts over Ben Kingsley, but I believe it's a vastly improved cast. The point is, you either believe in me and the project, setting your personal feelings aside, or you take a darker approach, which really serves no purpose since your insight and suggestions and overall are a great thrill for me to behold everyday I sign on." The film is scheduled to begin filming later this month.

Stallone, who wrote and will direct the film, is starring in the project, which focuses on a group of mercenaries heading to South America to overthrow a ruthless dictator. Jason Statham, Jet Li, Randy Couture, Dolph Lundgren, Eric Roberts, Charisma Carpenter, Steve Austin and Mickey Rourke will also star. Sly's pal Arnold Schwarzenegger will appear in a cameo role. Shooting will begin in Brazil later this month. (All Headline News)

In addition to the forthcoming film, Fif is also slated to co-star in a few other movie projects.

50 Cent has been tagged to star in the upcoming UK film, Dead Man Running, which will be directed by the same man responsible for the highly successful video game, Grand Theft Auto 2. The G-Unit leader has also been chosen to star in director Gela Babluani's upcoming flim 13. Production and release dates for these projects have not yet been disclosed. (SOHH)

Fif has shown an interest in films lately, with his announcement of his film production company called Cheetah Vision earlier this year.

50 said Cheetah Vision had already bought eight scripts. "They are all different types of movies that I bought the rights to, and we're developing projects. You will see different things from me in the future," he said. (Reuters)
