This month, BET will do their part to counteract voter apathy through a series of interviews with presidential hopefuls titled "What's In It For Us?"
According to a statement released by BET, the premiere special will feature Senator Barack Obama in a half-hour special titled "Barack Obama and the Black Vote," scheduled to air this Tuesday, Jan. 8 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
Senator Obama, who won the Iowa caucus yesterday, is on a mission to become the first black man in the White House. In the program he will discuss topics including his family, the U.S. education system, the criminal justice system, what being "black enough" really means, hip-hop and what's playing on his iPod.

"The thing about hip-hop today is it's smart, it's insightful, and the way that they can communicate a complex message in a very short space is remarkable," Obama said in the special. "I understand people want to be rooted in the community, they want to be down, but what I always say is that hip-hop is not just a mirror of what is. It should also be a reflection of what can be."
Although Obama has admiration for rap music, the feeling may not be mutual - at least from rapper Lupe Fiasco, who told SOHH that although he is not voting for anyone, he wants Obama's democratic rival, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, to win.
BET's second special will feature Senator Clinton, who will discuss thoughts on her rivals, her passions and what sets her apart. Clinton's campaign leader has been her husband, former president Bill Clinton. The special will air on Tuesday, Jan. 15 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
