Diplomats member Freekey Zekey has signed a multi-million dollar deal with Asylum Records for his solo debut album, Book Of Ezekiel.
Zeke, who was released from prison, last month after serving over two years for trafficking ecstasy, revealed the negotiation came about during a sit down with Asylum Executives Todd Moscowitz and Joie "Joey I.E." Manda and Diplomat CEO Cam'ron. "You've got to capitalize on the right time - everything is timing," explained Zeke via a statement. "We were all sitting in the studio, and Cam was discussing what was going on with his deal, and they cut him off like, 'What's popping with Zeke? Let's get it rockin!' They were happy, and of course a smart person, a hustler like Todd and Joey I.E., they knew - 'We might as well get him now before someone else gets him."
Zeke is currently working on Book Of Ezekiel, which is slated for release in 2007 via Diplomat Records/Asylum. After the album's release, Zeke will launch his own label, Dipset South.

"When you say Dipset South, it's only because it's based there. We don't limit it to being in the South with Southern artists," emphasized Zeke. "Anything could happen - we could have country music or R&B or elevator music. It's worldwide as far as a record label."
No acts are currently signed to Dipset South. Before the release of Book Of Ezekiel, Zeke will put out a mixtape as a prelude to his full length debut.
"I want success, and respect of the fact that I'm in business," added Zeke. "I'm a real dude."
