The dust has settled since Diamond announced she was parting with rap group Crime Mob. But after weeks of standard responses to the media about the rift, Princess reveals to SOHH the "real" reason for the split.
As previously reported, the mob is down one member since Diamond announced she was leaving the group to launch a solo career in December.

Contrary to Princess' past interview with SOHH, the rapper says that Diamond's departure from the group was not on good terms but instead fueled by jealousy and miscommunication.
"We were supposed to do a Diamond/Princess album," Princess explained. "We had different management at the time and [Diamond] changed management again and the group didn't really know about it ... stuff was just happening under the table and I was finding out like two weeks later about certain things." [Watch video below] So the group got together without Diamond and decided to give her an opportunity to exit. "If you feel like you can do it by yourself, go ahead and do it," she said. "I hope it works out for you. It was a lot on the table that she chose to pass up. I had to keep moving and the group had to keep moving." Diamond said she noticed a severance before that meeting though. "I know deep down she felt like it was a competition between me and her and to me it really wasn't," she explained. "I looked at her like a little sister ... I was protective of her and just teaching her the tricks of the trade to the game and on a rapping level, how to become more lyrical. I started to see it more when awards shows started to come along because she always wanted to walk the red carpet by herself." Princess said she hasn't spoken to Diamond since July and though she has no hard feelings, she told SOHH if she ran into her on the street she would walk right past her. "I'm actually hurt, because I didn't see it coming; I didn't get a warning sign or nothing.
Despite the setback, Princess is keeping it moving, just inking a solo deal with Warner Brothers. Yet she made it a point to assure fans that she's still down with Crime Mob and has no plans to leave the group. | |||||||||
