Jay-Z Reveals Unwritten Rap Secrets To Oprah Winfrey |

A portion of Jay-Z's highly-anticipated "Oprah Winfrey Show" interview has landed online and shows the rap mogul discussing his method of writing rhymes without paper and a pen.
Although the preview is less than a minute, Hov is seen speaking with Oprah Winfrey about how he developed his memory. "Yeah, I was working on it," Hov jokingly told Oprah about writing lyrics in his head. "Yeah, we work through it. It's almost like an exercise. I used to write so much, you get these flows of creativity, you know, and if your'e accustomed to doing something even if you're not in the house anymore. You know, I was away and out in the street and I was still getting all these ideas so I had to memorize 'em. And the more I memorized them, you know, every single day, it built up my memory. Like anything, if you do one push-up, then ten, you know. You build, I built the muscle." (YouTube) Reports of Hov appearing on Oprah's show began to circulate in late August.

The two stars conversed last month at the rapper's old stomping grounds, Marcy Projects, and Jay-Z took Winfrey to his grandmother's old home in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn. Winfrey appeared smitten by Jay-Z's charm telling Gayle King during a radio interview that the two were now best friends. (MTV)
He appeared on New York radio station Hot 97 last week to offer hints regarding his time with the award-winning host. "I brought her around there really for the neighborhood," he said. "'Cause a lot of times, when you see people or you hear about Oprah Winfrey, she seems almost untouchable. When I saw her, it was shocking to me. So I know how that feels, to see someone on TV and hear their name and know they're so hugely successful. They seem unattainable -- but for them to be around the way and for kids to just see that." (Hot 97) Hovi is also featured in Oprah's October 2009 O Magazine speaking on various topics including his secret wedding to Grammy-winning superstar, Beyonce Knowles. "Yeah, when you're a public person, you have to keep some things to yourself, or else," Jay said in the interview. "[The wedding was] late planning! Very few [people attended.] The sad part is that we offended some. But people who love you understand. Because at the end of the day, it's your day...Nothing is necessary. [The N-word has] just become part of the way we communicate. My generation hasn't had the same experience with that word that generations of people before us had. We weren't so close to the pain.
