Lady Gaga Explains "Fame Kills" Tour Concept - trailer

Grammy-winning singer Lady Gaga has spoken on her upcoming Fame Kills tour which she'll co-headline with Kanye West and hinted at what the concept of the nationwide run will be.

While not giving away too many details, Gaga said fame will become a primary feature behind the tour and will be played out at their shows.

Gaga says they will use a new stage that stretches from one side of the arena to the other - "imagine an in-the-round experience, but larger," Gaga said. While she was typically coy about revealing too many details about the tour, she did say that she and West would "spend a lot of time onstage together." Gaga also provided a look inside the notion behind the show - and, for fans of the flamboyantly bizarre singer, the high-concept show sounds as though it will be unlikely to disappoint. "The storyline is that Kanye is on one end of the stage and I'm on the other, and the whole show, we are trying to get to where each other is," she said. "I want something that he has, which is the fame, and he wants something that I have, which is home, and my humble beginnings. So we battle each other throughout the entire performance to steal each other's spaces." "So I'm essentially on a quest to kill Kanye West to steal his fame." (Canadian Press)

Gaga previously revealed her pre-tour agreement conversation with Yeezy.

Before agreeing to tour with Kanye West this fall, Gaga told the rapper, "I just want to be clear before we decide to do this together: I'm gay. My music is gay. My show is gay. And I love that it's gay. And I love my gay fans and they're all going to be coming to our show. And it's going to remain gay." That's another clause in the Gagaland constitution: Gay culture shall gush undiluted into the rapids of society. It shall not be co-opted, fancified, dolled up, or Uncle Tommed. "I very much want to inject gay culture into the mainstream," she says, "It's not an underground tool for me. It's my whole life. So I always sort of joke the real motivation is to just turn the world gay." (Out Magazine)

While keeping his words brief, Ye wrote in his signature all caps and expressed his feelings towards "fame" in a blog posting earlier this month.

"WHAT HAPPENED TO ALL THE ROCK STARS?," he wrote Wednesday (September 23). "THE FAME KILLED THEM!" (Kanye West's Blog)

The duo will launch their tour beginning in early November 2009.

West has announced another tour: the full slate of dates for his Fame Kills Starring Kanye West and Lady Gaga trek have been confirmed. Their joint trek launches November 10th in Phoenix, Arizona and stretches into 2010. Presale for the Fame Kills tour, which doesn?t leave a major media market unvisited begins September 16th, while the general onsale kicks off September 19th. (Rolling Stone)
