Lil Jon Releases 'Crunk Rock' Re-Sparks Crunk Movement With The Game, Akon & Pitbull

Southern producer Lil Jon has announced plans to re-spark his crunk movement with the upcoming release of Crunk Rock which features The Game, Akon and Soulja Boy Tell Em.

Originally planned to drop around 2006, the project will now land in stores this November.

While known for his unique, high-velocity production style, Lil Jon says the album will bear the fruits of his collaborations with the producers behind some of the most indelible, Billboard chart-topping hits of recent years, including DJ David Guetta, Dr. Luke and RedOne. In addition, Crunk Rock?s guest-star parade will include The Game, Ice Cube, 3Oh!3, Elephant Man, Pastor Troy, Ying Yang Twinz, Pitbull, Soulja Boy, R.Kelly, Akon and Florida punk rock group Whole Wheat Bread. Jon also confirmed the project's forthcoming release and explained what his fans could expect.

"This album has all the Lil Jons you've ever heard," he promised in an interview. "From the crunk Lil Jon to the Usher-like Lil Jon to the electro Lil Jon who's hanging with LMFAO. I've got to touch all my fans...I never really had the commercial success internationally that I had in the States. This will help take me to another level where I deserve to be at. We're going to push the button, and it's going to be Lil Jon mania all over again." (Billboard)

He also recently spoke on his music having a universal appeal to all races.

"I can wear a bunch of different hats," he explained in an interview. "I can go from crunk music to electro to, you know, R&B. I can do so many different kinds of music whereas some people are just in a box, they can only do one thing. My fan base is so broad -- from Latinos to Asians, black, white, young old." (Miami Herald)

Former Jon associate Lil Scrappy previously spoke on his departure from the producer's camp earlier this summer.

"My whole problem is that I was never with a good machine," Scrappy explained. "Everybody thought I was with a good machine just because Lil Jon was doing his thing when I first came out. But Jon was only worried about Jon. And when Lil Jon fell off, he didn't worry about helping nobody else." (Vibe)

Crunk Rock is scheduled to land in stores Tuesday, November 24th.
