The Game Heats Up "A-Team" Movie Talk

The Game has spoken on his preparation for the upcoming A-Team movie, adding further clues to the reported role he will play.

The rapper-turned-actor wrote via his Twitter account and hinted at what actions he has taken to prepare for the possible role.

"JUST WOKE UP FROM A MUCH NEEDED NAP," he wrote Wednesday (July 8). "WORKIN OUT TWICE A DAY TO GET READY FOR THIS A-TEAM MOVIE ! LAMBORGHINI TOUR DAY 2 BLOG IN 1HR. LOCK IN." (The Game's Twitter)

Reports landed online earlier this month which confirmed casting reports involving Game.

While casting is underway for the big screen adaptation on the long running TV series, "The A-Team," Blackfilm.com has exclusively learned that rapper The Game is being considered for the role of 'B.A Baracus,' which was originated by Mr. T on the television show. Online buzz has it that the role was going to another rapper-turned-actor, Common, but with his recent casting opposite Queen Latifah in Just Wright, he may not finish filming before The A-Team gets rolling in August. Other possible candidates have included Ice Cube and mixed martial arts fighter Quinton "Rampage" Jackson. Interesting enough, both Common and The Game appeared in the same film last year, Street Kings. The Game made his film debut opposite Tyrese Gibson in Waist Deep. (Black Film)

Common previously reacted to early talks of him starring in the film as "B.A. Baracus."

"I can't speak on it yet until we know what's going on but that would be an incredible character to play," Common explained in an interview earlier this year. "I can't do the Mohawk but we got to do something, we got to find something to make it work... I would love to [do it], just to work with Joe [Carnahan] is so exciting...You know you need to keep your pace and patience and let things develop... I want it to be as diverse as possible, [but] first of all I don't want to act like I've been given the role of B.A. So let me be honest about that." (IESB)

The film's producers and director were confirmed earlier this year.

The studio has set Joe Carnahan to direct and Ridley Scott to produce, with Tony Scott executive producing through their Scott Free banner. Also producing are Jules Daly and Stephen J. Cannell, the latter of whom created the original TV series. Carnahan will team with Brian Bloom to polish a script by Skip Woods. The intention is to start production by June for a June 11, 2010, release. (Coming Soon)

No further information on the film's status or casting has been announced.
