The Game In Talks For "A-Team" Movie, Replacing Common's Role

Rapper-turned-actor The Game is reportedly in talks to star in the upcoming A-Team remake next summer and could possibly be replacing Common's speculated role in the film.

While details are stills scarce, inside sources have confirmed the casting reports and Game's possible role in the production.

While casting is underway for the big screen adaptation on the long running TV series, "The A-Team," Blackfilm.com has exclusively learned that rapper The Game is being considered for the role of 'B.A Baracus,' which was originated by Mr. T on the television show. Online buzz has it that the role was going to another rapper-turned-actor, Common, but with his recent casting opposite Queen Latifah in Just Wright, he may not finish filming before The A-Team gets rolling in August. Other possible candidates have included Ice Cube and mixed martial arts fighter Quinton "Rampage" Jackson. Interesting enough, both Common and The Game appeared in the same film last year, Street Kings. The Game made his film debut opposite Tyrese Gibson in Waist Deep. (Black Film)

Common previously reacted towards early talks of him staring in the film as ''B.A. Baracus."

"I can't speak on it yet until we know what's going on but that would be an incredible character to play," Common explained in an interview earlier this year. "I can't do the Mohawk but we got to do something, we got to find something to make it work... I would love to [do it], just to work with Joe [Carnahan] is so exciting...You know you need to keep your pace and patience and let things develop... I want it to be as diverse as possible, [but] first of all I don't want to act like I've been given the role of B.A. So let me be honest about that." (IESB)

The film's producers and director were confirmed earlier this year.

The studio has set Joe Carnahan to direct and Ridley Scott to produce, with Tony Scott executive producing through their Scott Free banner. Also producing are Jules Daly and Stephen J. Cannell, the latter of whom created the original TV series. Carnahan will team with Brian Bloom to polish a script by Skip Woods. The intention is to start production by June for a June 11, 2010, release. (Coming Soon)

Aside from his possible role in the re-make, Game was recently selected to star in House Arrest alongside Stacey Dash.

Beautiful cover model/actress Stacey Dash teams up and locks lips with renowned and often controversial rapper The Game to star in House Arrest a "dramedy" as director Billy Washington describes it. High maintenance girl meets quick money scheming man. Up the road and down the hill they go like Jack and Jill facing drama, after drama after drama. Cast includes: Stacey Dash, The Game, Kiera Washington, Red Grant, Bebe Drake, Theron Benymon, Shelli Boone, Cory Bievin and more. (Hip Hop Press)

No further information on the film's status or casting has been announced.
