Gucci Mane Arrested At Miami Nightclub, Hit w/ Assault Charge

Last Friday, Gucci Mane, aka Radric Davis, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault on his way to perform at Miami's Club Wharehouse.

Gucci, who was billed as a special guest at the club, is presently in solitary confinement at Fort Lauderdale's Sheriff's Department. No bail has been set and he is presently waiting to be extradited to Atlanta.

According to Gucci's lawyer, Dennis Scheib, Miami police as well as FBI and DEA officers arrived at the club moments after the rapper got to the venue. An anonymous SOHH.com source present at the scene, said three unmarked police cars and several marked police vehicles were on hand to apprehend the rapper and his entourage, including his label owner Big Cat of Big Cat Records.

"It seems like they [police] were focusing just on Gucci," the eyewitness told SOHH.com. "They just went straight to the back [of the car]. Then they separated him from everybody else and took him over to the other side of the street."

Police found several handguns after searching the two cars driven by Gucci and his crew. The Georgia rapper was the first taken into custody as the rest of his squad stood on the curb. They were later taken in, including label owner, Big Cat. Security personnel traveling with Gucci pleaded that the weapons were registered.

"They found a couple guns in the car," Scheib told SOHH.com. "The people checked the guns on the plane. These were security officers with licenses and a righteous reason to carry guns. Gucci didn't have a gun on."

According to Scheib, Atlanta authorities had a warrant out for Gucci on aggravated assault charges. He claims the incident started roughly a month ago when Tucker, an Atlanta promoter, began booking Gucci shows without the rapper's authorization. Gucci apparently still performed at the gigs, but was never paid for his efforts. Consequently, Big Cat contacted Tucker and advised him to stay away from Gucci and the label.

Scheib contends that the promoter eventually stopped by the Big Cat's office, got into an altercation with the label's employees and got injured in the process. Days later, the promoter contacted Big Cat and threatened that he would contact the authorities if he wasn't compensated for his injuries. According to Scheib, the promoter first demanded $2,500, then $10,000 and later $25,000. Big Cat refused, prompting the promoter to alert the authorities. Scheib said that the aggravated assault charges stem from the Big Cat office incident. He is positive that Gucci was not involved in the fight.

"He [promoter] got into, not with Gucci, but with a couple of the other employees, talking trash," Scheib revealed to SOHH.com. From my understanding, he didn't touch the guy."

Gucci was arrested on murder charges this past May. Prior to last Friday's arrest, the rapper was out on bond and suspected in the murder of Henry Clark III, aka Pokie Loc, of The Loccish Lyfestyle rap group based in Macon, Georgia.

Loc was signed to Young Jeezy's Corporate Thugz Entertainment. The shooting reportedly took place when five armed assailants attacked Mane and a friend as they were visiting an Atlanta stripper at her home. Gucci and Jeezy had been feuding prior to the shooting. The two were beefing over the rights of Gucci's single "So Icy" on which Jeezy also appears.

Big Cat Records did not return calls seeking comments.
